About the Journal

Plural Family Law Review (PFL) is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal published by Tuah Foundation Indonesia. It constitutes two issues in one year (June and December).

Plural Family Law Review (PFL) is an international academic journal dedicated to the study of family law in plural legal orders at the global, regional, national, and local levels. It aims to offer a comprehensive analysis of the interplay between religious, customary, indigenous, tribal, and state legal orders in matters of marriage, divorce, parenthood, custody, inheritance, domestic violence, and family welfare, with emphasis on the contextualization of family law in contemporary societies where multiple legal traditions converge. The journal covers a broad scope, including Theoretical and Methodological Foundations of Plural Family Law, Religious Family Law in Plural Legal Orders, Customary, Indigenous and Non-State Family Law, Gender, Children and Vulnerability Across Plural Legal Orders, Inheritance, Property and Jurisdictional Conflicts, and Reform, Codification and Policy of Plural Family Law.
